Gary
B. Kabat founded the firm with Bruce L. Mielziner in 1969.
For over forty years, he has represented businesses and
individuals in a wide variety of legal matters encompassing
both the litigation and transactional realms of law practice.
Mr.
Kabat’s practice focuses on litigation for business
clients in a broad
spectrum of matters, including disputes related to
contracts, franchise rights, employment issues, member
and shareholding
relations, real estate and business valuations.
Mr.
Kabat also represents clients in transactional matters,
including substantial
business startups, the purchase and sale of businesses,
and the purchase and sale of commercial real estate.
Another
focus area of Mr. Kabat’s practice is family law, where
he represents
individuals in divorce, dissolution of marriage, custody,
spousal and child support, and prenuptial agreements.
Mr. Kabat has extensive experience in family law matters
involving sophisticated business and pension valuation
issues.
He
is a member of the Cleveland Bar Association and a past
member of its Ethics Committee
dealing with the enforcement of ethics rules and the
policing of lawyers.
